Adult companion services provides non-medical care, supervision, and socialization to an adult. Companion services help a person work toward a therapeutic or community integration goal as outlined in their support plan. Examples of covered tasks include attending outdoor events to reduce social isolation, playing board or video games to help improve fine motor skills, providing verbal instructions or cueing to help a person complete a task, or going to see a film to help reduce social anxiety. Adult companion services do not cover activity fees or assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
